San Dieguito Academy
PALs
Who We Are:
We are students dedicated to assisting our peers. We are trained to help others.
What We Do:
We are here to listen to students, without judgment and without giving advice. We help students explore their options and formulate their own solutions in a safe, supportive and confidential environment. We also organize several awareness events on campus throughout the year, such as Red Ribbon Week for drug prevention and Yellow Ribbon Week for suicide awareness.
Our Confidential Pledge:
“Whatever is said between a PAL and a student stays between them unless the student is hurting him or herself or someone else, someone is hurting the student, or a crime is being committed.”
In this case, the PAL and the student will go to the appropriate agency of advisor together and the PAL will stay with the student the whole way.
How You Can Get Involved:
A teacher, parent, student or friend can refer an individual who may need to talk to someone. Just fill out a referral form in the counseling office. Then bring it down to the PALs office! (put the yellow referral slip in the PAL wooden house box.) You can also send Ms. Nebolon an email, at ann.nebolon@sduhsd.net .
